COVID 19 and Grooming

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the way in which we work and groom your dogs has had to change dramatically for all parties’ benefit, both two and four legged.  

Whilst we will be adhering to the strictest guidelines to help reduce and minimise the spread of the disease, it must be clearly understood that clients wishing to have their dogs groomed at this time, accept any risks associated in doing so and need to be aware of, and must agree to the following, and work with us in adhering to the process and procedures outlined below and in the attached document Rules And Procedures For Chic Members Of Staff

Anybody self-isolating, classed as vulnerable or showing any symptoms, MUST NOT, under any circumstances attend a grooming appointment.

 

On arrival, all clients must follow all hygiene procedures put in place to minimise cross contamination.  

 

No clients are permitted to enter the salon. 

 

A member of staff will come out into the forecourt to collect your dog.  

 

Clients are responsible for safely handing over their own dog.  

 

All harnesses/collars and leads must be removed and taken home.  

 

When making the booking, we will endeavour to discuss the grooming requirements with you over the

telephone thereby reducing the face to face contact time.

 

Before the grooming procedure can begin, as a precaution, your dog will be misted down with a pet safe, nontoxic, non-irritant anti-viral spray - Leucillion

However, in the event that you are unhappy about the use of this product, we may not be able to carry out the groom

Unfortunately, now that we have to adhere to new rules and guidelines set out by our governing body, necessitating the use of additional specialised products and cleaning materials required to prevent cross contamination, the extra time needed in implementing the new processes and procedures, reducing the amount of dogs which can physically be safely groomed in the same day, we will be incurring significant cost increases not all of which we can absorb as a business. Consequently we now had to add an extra cost of £5.00 per groom, over and above the cost of the groom, pre Corona Virus 

We require at least 24 hours’ notice of any cancellation, for any reason. Failure to do so will result in a cancellation fee of the full cost of the groom which will be payable before any further appointments can be made.

In order to reduce risks of cross contamination, Contactless Payments will be the preferred payment method. We can still accept payment through card by using our PayPal machine, which will be disinfected before each use. If you are unbale to pay contactless, payment by cash will still be acceptable but please come with the right amount, as change cannot be given to avoid cross contamination.

You MUST drop off/pick up at the stated time, as times are purposely staggered to ensure the highest standard of protection is maintained, to allow the necessary procedures to be carried out pre and post groom and to avoid the possibility of clients being in the same place at the same time, making social distancing harder.

Any dogs arriving late may have to rebooked and a late fee of 50% of the grooming free will apply to cover loss of earnings 

Dogs that are not collected on time will incur a holding fee, as this will result in the dog having to be crated, extra sterilisation will be incurred, and the next client may have to be postponed or even cancelled.

It is a client’s responsibility to ensure their dog is fit and healthy and must notify us of any known issues prior to, or at the time of, making their appointment.  

Grooming of sick or elderly dogs is entirely at owner’s risk.  

Grooming may expose underlying skin or health problems that we cannot be held liable for and will be brought to your immediate attention.  

Whilst every care and attention is given to your dog, they are accepted for grooming at your own risk.  Our first concern is naturally the welfare of your dog, so in the event of illness or injury a vet may be consulted and unless it can be clearly shown and proven that we are liable, all costs in connection with and carrying out their instructions shall be at the owner’s expense.

Where possible, all dogs must arrive thoroughly brushed/combed out as they must now be bathed immediately.  

We will try our very best to maintain the desired agreed style but any knotted or matted coats will be clipped short and we will notify you of the need for us to carry out this course of action, or any change that we feel is necessary to the agreed style, prior to us progressing with the groom.  

If any groom is not completed or carried out, due to lack of owner’s consent to whatever changes may be needed or recommended by the groomer, 100% of the agreed groom costs will still be levied and charged at the time of the collection

Dogs requiring extensive extra work due to the poor nature or condition of their coat may incur an extra charge. We will again try to bring this to your attention before we commence the groom.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in these unprecedented times and hopefully, working together and understanding all of the complex issues now involved in the grooming process, due to new policies and procedures which have to be put in place, together with the problems associated with a longer than normal passage of time between grooms. This will help us keep us all, two and four legged,  safe and well.
